Came home from school & starts to read the newspaper my cousin bought. The former president Dr Wee Kim Wee passed away on Monday morning from complications due to a relapse of prostate cancer at 510pm, age of 89. Public can pay their last respects to the late Dr Wee Kim Wee at the Istana. Last day to pay their respects to Dr Wee Kim Wee is today from 9.30am to 9pm. He's from a poor kampung boy to journalist to Ambassador and finally to Head of State & he had transformed Singapore from a poor colony to a prosperous First World country. Dr Wee lived simply and by his principles and convictions and did not feel the need to impress others with a big car just because he was a former President. Dr Wee's death was a great loss not just for the family but also his friends, Singapore and Singaporeans. Sending condolence to the wife of former President Dr Wee Kim Wee. He's a great man & just like a father to singaporean, he had touched many people's heart. No matter what or where we are, he will always be remembered by us & we'll miss him.. Rest In Peace Dr Wee. =)
